ASK CAFE

The ASK CAFE (Companion Animal Food Endowment) is a special project of the ASK Foundation where we provide help to some of our needier neighbors in the form of pet food for their dogs and cats.

Many of our citizens have experienced significant financial hardship and have to make tough decisions about how to feed their pets, or consider relinquishing them. The ASK Foundation solicits donations of dog and cat food from distributors and manufacturers and re-distributes these supplies to Riverside County residents who can demonstrate financial need.

ASK CAFE distributions, when supplies are available, are held at the shelter on the first Wednesday of the month. Qualified recipients should come to the shelter at 6851 Van Buren Blvd., Jurupa Valley, 92509 on distribution days, and bring qualification documentation. You'll need:

* Proof of residency in Riverside County. This must be a photo ID that proves who you are, such as state-issued driver license or ID card. Any photo ID that does not have your current address on it must be accompanied by other proof of residency, such as a current utility bill in your name.

* Proof of low income. This could include a MediCal card, EDD card, Section 8 housing documentation, WIC card, VA card or a bank statement depicting income at or below the state's low-income level.

The ASK Cafe is on hold.

Please visit the shelter during business hours -- food may be available on a short-term basis. Hours are Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
